Went shooting my Model 25-2 today

It went pretty well. My handloads have a 250 grain Bang and Clang LLC powder coated semi wadcutter over 231 powder. They were loaded in a Starline case with Winchester LP primer. The first six at 15 yards are shown. Note that my gun has an extra cylinder in 45 Colt. According to Roy it did not come from S&W that way but I bought the gun new from a dealer so evidently the dealer fitted it after the factory.

Best of both worlds! A display case to boot! Bob

One thing to consider is unless you get very lucky, each time you swap cylinders, you will need to make sight adjustments.

This was not the case for me. I had been shooting the 45 ACP handloads for maybe 25 years. The 45 Colt rounds hit in exactly the same spot.

That is great news! Were they comparable loads? I have not loaded the 45 long Colt in years but when I did it was a 260 grains of lead at about 950 fps. My ACP loads were 235 at 900-950 fps. The only revolver I had with dual capabilities was a SAA clone to which I had misplaced the long Colt cylinder. I have since found it. I may have to revisit this. But, I have not loaded the long Colt cartridge in 30 years!
