It likes my handloads of W231 (old batch from when Winchester produced their own powder) under a 250 grain powder coated semi wadcutter from Missouri Bullets in a Starline case with W-W primer. First image shows the first six at 15 yards.

Last image shows 50 - I got lazy towards the end and the low shots are the result. - editing - rotating the images.

Grr - it does not want to go right side up!

Refresh my memory, please. 45 ACP or 45 long Colt?

Kevin

Thank you! Yes, chambered for the 45 long Colt but in the shorter ACP cylinder.

Kevin

It uses the same frame as a Model 25-2 but in no way is the cylinder for 45 ACP. It is for any 45 Colt caliber ammunition.

I do believe Kevin is referring to the fact that the M25-3 uses a shorter cylinder than the one used in the M25-5. Except for the headspace at the rear, the M25-3 .45 Colt cylinder is the same length as a M25-2 .45 ACP. This basic cylinder is nominally the same length as the M27/28 cylinders.

StrawHat has much experience with the family of .45 Colt and .45 ACP N frame S&Ws.

Not sure what Kevin is talking about but the FRAMES on the Model 25-2 and the Model 25-3 and the Model 25-4 are all identical. The difference is in the cylinders - the Model 25-2 Cylinder is chambered for 45 ACP while the Model 25-3 and the Model 25-4 are both chambered in 45 Colt caliber, the difference being the completely different CYLINDER.

It may be chambered for the 45 long Colt but the cylinder length is the same as the cylinder used in the Model 25-2.

And yes, all N FRAMES are the the same. So are the stainless G FRAMES.
