So now.... I've kind of settled on a Harris (ask me again in 5 minutes ). And, I realized there are many variations in length that I was not aware of at first.
And, then; someone posts that his bipod allows him just about stand straight up at the indoor range while using it. I thought that was cool. I'm 6'4". So, in order for that to work to my advantage, I guess I would need a Bipod that extends way long - something like the max of 13" or something. And, that might be close.
Also; with all my looking around, it appears with a Harris Bipod, I'm going to need a picatinny adapter, looking like I would need to spend around $100 to really get what I want. But, maybe not..
I had seen the UTG's, and others for around $30. I think I would rather pay the extra and get a Harris, however.

For now; I'm putting the Bipod adventure on the back burner, and decide on a vertical foregrip, and check locally just to see what type of ladder rail covers are offered. I'm thinking, not too much.

He may have been talking about a monopod and not a bipod. Have you looked at monopods? Sometimes called a "shooting stick". A monopod is basically a straight "stick" (made of metal or something else usually like a synthetic material of some type of plastic or fiber embedded material) with some sort of rest or attachment at the top for the weapon. The monopod comes in various configuration/shapes/and lenghts, like this one for example > http://www.accu-shot.com/ but they all have the same monopod single point "resting" function where a bipod has at a two point "resting" function through the legs.

There are also various bipods and monopods with various features and lenghts here as well > http://www.thecountryshed.com/bipods.htm or this bipod that can be extended to heights up to 64 inches > http://www.cabelas.com/product/Hunting/Hunting-Accessories/Shooting-Sticks-Bipods%7C/pc/104791680/c/104734980/sc/104564880/Stoney-Point-Rapid-Pivot-Bipod/741582.uts?destination=/catalog/browse/hunting-hunting-accessories-shooting-sticks-bipods/_/N-1100128

There are also tripods like this one > http://www.cabelas.com/product/Hunting/Hunting-Accessories/Shooting-Sticks-Bipods%7C/pc/104791680/c/104734980/sc/104564880/BOGgear-BOG-POD174-Camo-Legged-Devil8482/741622.uts?destination=/catalog/browse/hunting-hunting-accessories-shooting-sticks-bipods/_/N-1100128 and this > http://www.cabelas.com/product/Hunting/Hunting-Accessories/Shooting-Sticks-Bipods%7C/pc/104791680/c/104734980/sc/104564880/Stoney-Point-Tripod/707415.uts?destination=/catalog/browse/hunting-hunting-accessories-shooting-sticks-bipods/_/N-1100128

Stony Point provides a lot of monopods, bipods, and tripods for shooting also > http://www.stoneypoint.com/products/bp_crusader_polecat_bipods.html and this one extends to 65 inches > http://www.stoneypoint.com/products/bp_expedition_polecat_bipods.html

I don't know of many bipods though that extend to 6' 4". I think the tallest bipod available is from Stony Point in their Steady Stix II & Safari Stix II Bipods series where the fit chart lists one at extending up to 72 inches for the Black Safari Stix model.

Or,,, maybe, he was really short. But, I think he did say bipod. I wonder just how a shooting stick (monopod) would work with a gun like the 15-22. Might be fun to try. :)

For a monopod... you can get a cheap stubby foregrip and use your grip to adjust the height.

Great Post! Appreciate all the links! Those tall monopods, and bipods are certainly something to consider Nice!

Thanks!

Good Idea, Phil! I'm looking at one of the Tapco Intrafuse Vertical Grips (black). At first I was thinking about a folding model. But, I think I just want to keep it simple.

And, the Shooters Ridge brand of bipods look tempting.
