This is a really interesting video clip. It's a movie made while wandering around in London in 1927. The man who made it had invented a color image process, which he used here. Here is London in the "roaring '20s" complete with flappers and their round bonnets and men with their golf-style caps. The automobiles alone are priceless. It's not long, but if you go to full screen, it's like stepping back in time with our British cousins. There is a music background if you want to turn up your speakers. Treat yourself to what it must have been like there 86 years ago! I didn't realize color film was possible this long ago. Enjoy.

That's fun! I did not understand why Petticoat Lane seemed to be so teeming with men only but maybe I missed the explanation.

That really is surprisingly good video for something that early.

Really good quality video. Not only for the time but the fact that it has survived so well. Interesting look at a place faraway not only in distance, but in time.

Good time piece video on London. I sent the link to my ex- co-worker
Deb who came to the USA from England more than twenty years ago.
She has waited a long time for her turn to become a citizen but now
is on her way to becoming one. We are lucky to get her. She is highly
educated and extremly gung ho on the USA.

Remarkable color of 1927, especially the state of preservation. Having been there about 35 years after this was filmed, there were a lot of things that hadn't changed. much.

Looked it up

Color motion film was being toyed with before 1900. The first successful process was made in 1905. The dye process that developed (no pun intended) into modern films were around by 1910. There were several different processes, some good some not so good by 1927.
