I just purchased an 8 3/8" Model 27-2 from another board member and it got me thinking about how many model number-era Smiths were available with the 8 3/8" barrel option? I decided to post it here because with the exception of the L-frames I believe that the rest fell in this time slot.

Here we go: Models 14, 16(?), 17, 25, 27, 29, 57, 586 and 686

Those are the ones I can think of - can you add more?

Adios,

Pizza Bob

You forgot many of the stainless brethren from the Model number marked era

460, 500, 617, 629, 647, 657

There may be more 8 3/8" revolvers, but that is all I can remember

I recall seeing a Model 24 years ago at a gun show with a 8 3/8", but it may have been a re-barreled custom gun.
