I have the ar 15 Sport and am thinking I would like a 20" barrel.
Would you guys buy a whole new gun and have two guns or just buy a new upper for the Sport ? Maybe a Rock River or a Stag upper.

A new upper only should be lowest cost wise.
A complete new gun would give more options brand wise.

you could always install a longer barrel on your sport, thats not a problem, I am waiting for a 20" 1-8 5R barrel, or going to have to buy a 5R barrel from Remington and have it made into an AR barrel. any way thats my fantasy

the varmint 20' upper half is kind of pricy, isn't it ?

Just stick with your 16" barrel and spend the money on ammo.

After you shoot it for a while, *then* decide what accessories or other uppers/barrels you want.

Owning an AR-15 is an expensive hobby, don't go running out and buying a bunch of stuff that will soon enough be sitting in your parts bin. Wait 'till you know what you need.

We've all been there, and we've all spent money that could have been better spent -- just trying to save you a little $$$ (and heartache).

Go shoot, be safe, and have fun!
