Looking at a post war K-22...what's it worth ?

Take a little 0000 steel wool and your favorite gun oil, rub that area to get is as smooth as you can. Then clean and lightly oil the gun to prevent any rust. Shoot vigorously, keep it clean and oiled and your grandkids can learn to shoot with it.

A shame.....like the Batman Character Two-face......

saw the right side and wow....... hard to tell from the pictures ..... what did that blood?

Apparently the guy who owned it had bought it..oiled it and left it in a styrofoam padded case for a long time. The checkering on the stocks are still sharp. Don't think it was used a whole lot.

Newbie S&W collector here... so I offer my comments with that caveat. I would consider $450 very reasonable for a good shooter like this. I just picked up her identical twin sister who was on consignment at my LGS yesterday. Very slight blue wear at the muzzle but aside from that the finish on mine was perfect. Same stocks, with the s/n stamped inside the right panel. 196xxx serial number placing her birthdate in 1953. They were asking $700, I paid $650. I was quite happy. Looks right at home next to her 1957 pre-model 14 K-38 Target Masterpiece "big" younger sister.
