I am looking for a S&W pre-lock, 357 snubbie with a six round cylinder. Does such a creature exist? I know the J frames are 5 shots. I might go that way, but I would feel better with six rounds in my cylinder. Thanks.

Look no further than the Model 19. Or, if stainless steel is more to your liking, look at the Model 66.

Here are my M19 snubbies:

You may also be able to find a 3" barrel model 13, (They have fixed sights)

The 19, 66, and pre lock 686 are the best carry revolvers out there.

If you can locate a 7-shot 686-4 snubby like Cajunlawyers all the better. Dosen't get any better than those. Regards 18DAI.

I have the S&W 3" 66-3 ported lew horton and a 2 1/2" python. Both are great.

If you are looking for NEW, there probably are not any left.

If you are looking for USED, there are millions of them in the market place that have been manufactured since the introduction of the 2 1/2" barrel on the model 19 in 1966.

The Models 13, 19, 65 and 66 would all be 6 shot revolvers built on the K frame.

The Models 586 and 686 would offer 6 shot revolvers built on the L frame.

The Models 386, 586 and 686 would offer 7 shot revolvers built on the L frame.

The Models 327 and 627 would offer 8 shot revolvers built on the N frame.

I'd personally go for a model 19 or 66. Much easier to pack than the 686 as they are both smaller and much lighter. Load my model 19 with 158 gr. Speer Gold Dots and they are very accurate and pack a punch. They are also fairly pleasant to shoot.
