Yeah but by the time you pay FFL and background and shipping you are probably at $319. If you live anywhere that has an academy sports you can get them for $299 about 10 times a year. From what I was told there the other day they think the rebate promo will be coming around again too.

Like on all guns prices tend to vary heavily by region. People have posted here before that Sigma's sell for $375-400 in their locales. If you don't live near an Academy Sports that could be a very good deal.

For me the total cost would be 279.00 I'm not anywhere near an academy sports store. And I'm sure most aren't. My FFL charges 10.00 for the xfer. No cost on the background check because I have a CWP. The background check charge for Florida is 5.00

So if you are paying an extra 50.00 for xfer and background check, you may want to take your business to another FFL.

Shipping is usually about $20, FFL Transfer fee is $20 and $10 for TICS even if you have a CCP. So Most of the time you can usually find new for what you can get a gun for over the net.

Bud's prices include shipping. Their price on that gun is $269 shipped.

The FFL I use generally charges $25 for a transfer. However, I don't have to pay sales tax (NC 7.75%) and since I have a CHP, I don't have to pay $5 for a purchase permit. If any local dealers had a excellent condition Sigma for $269 it would be a wash as far as price goes. However, they don't, so if I wanted one right now, Bud's would be the way to go.

I buy a lot of stuff from Bud's. They have good prices and excellent service. If its something I can find locally for less, I buy local. Otherwise Bud's is the first place I look.

One of the other forums has a post about Buds not being a place to shop. Ordered a 357 got a 38 . Buds WOULD NOT fix without a restocking charge. Thier fault and charging to straighten out??????????????? Not sure if it was Shooters Forum or NE Shooters. Don't shoot the messanger. Just bringing up some info

I use Bud's pricing as a data point. And I find them high compared to the local market 90% of the time. And as a crow fly's from a regional out look. They are not that far from me either.

As for FFL fee's and such. I have one shop that will do up to 5 pistols or 3 long guns for $25 a pick up. Many others will charge $35 to $45 per weapon.

A quick example. There is a LGS here that has M&P .45's with the 4.5" barrel, no added safety's. Just a plain jane for $499. This has been there price for months and they always have many in stock to choose from. Buds is what $563 or there abouts. Even with sales tax the pistol is cheaper. Plus I don't have the extra $25 BIG BROTHER fee. And I can have the pistol today if I decided to pry the money out of my wallet. No waiting. :) Then there is the rebate until the end of the month. :)

Not in my area. The Sigmas in the gun shops were going for stupid prices. $375.00 and up! I purchased mine from Bud's for way less than that. No sales tax because I'm out of state. Shipping included. I know academy has some good prices, but the closest one to me is a 10 hour drive! That is just not an option.

Having done my research at local area gun shops, buying off the net from Bud's is much cheaper.

Here is a NEW one from Larry's; after rebate it is less than the used one. For the last S&W I bought from this place, I was charged $3.00 for shipping.

As far as I know, Smith has not started rebates again. And the link on Larry's pistol and pawn is to a rebate form that expired 12/31/09. But, if you have info on rebates for the Sigma, please post 'em.

That's the first time I've ever heard about a problem with Bud's. But anything is possible. They even state that you should inspect the weapon at your FFL. And if anything is wrong with it refuse delivery, and have the FFL call them for return shipping. All is this is done at no cost to the buyer. If it was the wrong weapon he should have refused delivery and called them immediately. But... If he accepted it, then yes, I can see them wanting a re-stock fee. Their policy is if you accept it and nothing is wrong with it and want to return it, you will pay a re-stock fee.
