Looking for a decent pellet gun/air rifle?

On the subject of pellet guns, I have two Crosman co2 pistols that need repair, one is a 38c and the other a 38t.
Does anyone know of a repair shop, I used these extensively years ago to save ammo, the 38c was also used by our Air Force to train pilots years ago with their Smith & Wesson model 15.

I love my Gamo Silent Stalker Whisper IGT. The gas piston is quiet and not the same twang as a springer. Very accurate to 25 yds that I shoot at. It may be better out further but I don't have the range. It wasn't quiet at first but once I put about 100 thru it and then cleaned it is a lot quieter. I would also look at the Fusion if you are thinking about quiet.

Yeah, having used a spring one, I'd never go that route again. The pump ones just give you so much more control. Neighbor had a compressed air one. Will do some digging.

If you like pumpers the Benjamin is pretty much the only game in town when it comes to a good quality adult air rifle. I love mine, it has dispatched many yard varmints over the last 20 years. I got the Silver Streak in 5mm/.20cal but the 392 and 397 are made in .177 and .22.

Feinwerkbau Model 2 CO2

I've been shooting this for 30 years and it still puts all the shots into one hole.

I lust after a Steyr LP50 (or similar from one of the other high end makers) to be able to practice timed and rapid fire in the garage.

(I just can't come up with the selling price....:()

I have a Ruger Yukon (Umarex) air rifle, Nitro spring powered, nice and quiet and pretty accurate. I also have a Gamo Whisper CFR, which is a fixed barrel air rifle where there is a lever under the gun to cock, so you can load the pellet into the breech and not cock it until later. Both have F/O sights and included a scope; I just use the F/O sights to plink in my basement. These are single pump, but are rated to 1200+ FPS with the alloy pellets.

I really like my Ruger Airhawk. Very accurate, powerful enough to drop the rabbits and squirrels that had been decimating every veggie, flower and berry plant on my proiperty! at a decent range and reasonably priced (Walmart has them for $88). Here the specs Vegetaman:

Ruger Air Hawk .177 Pellet Rifle with Scope:•Rifled barrel
•All weather composite stock
•4x32 scope with mounts included
•Adjustable fiber optic rear sight with fixed fiber optic front sight
•Adjustable 2 stage trigger
•Rubber recoil pad
•Ambidextrous vented cheekpiece
•1200 feet per second
•.177 alloy pellets
•Automatic safety
•Model# 2244005

Here's my Feinwerkbau 65 that I traded for recently. Larry

I had a old Benjamin made in the late 50's or early 60's, pumping was an issue for me when I was younger, in that it seems I would pinch the fatty meat just under my thumb on the palm side of my hand ..Ouch....:)

I bought a used Gamo awhile back...177, big Cat..Accurate, and what a choice of pellets !

Well, thanks to all the great input from you guys, I opted to get a springer instead of a multi-pump. Because I wanted wood stock and was working within a specific price range, I wound up buying a Crosman Optimus. Put about 30 rounds through it tonight. So far, so good. Thanks for the great feedback as always, gentlemen. :)

Have to give it to my Daisy Powerline, it shoots pretty far and gets the job done with pellets! I wish I could afford a compressed air gun that can handle multiple shots, soon though...
