Hello,

I'm looking for a gunsmith in Western or Central MD that can swap out the stock front sights on my 4506 and my 6906 and put in a fiber optic front. Maybe new rears on the 6906 as well, the old tritium is worn out..

I've tried asking various places around here, but when they realize that the vendors aren't listing the old models as compatible with the newer sights they seem to lose interest in doing it. I've thought of doing it myself, but I have none of the tools, experience or the dexterity required to mess with really, really small things.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi- Novak sights helped me with my 4506. It needed a taller than stock front sight because of a Millet rear adjustable sight. I used a piece of flat aluminum stock with some tape wrapped around it to drive the old one out. If you are limmited in what you can do manually, I strongly suggest that you call S&W and get an estimate from them. They put a fiber optic sight on for me a while back, and the cost with sight was very reasonable in my view. Remember, all you have to send them is the slide by its self-so no FFL or special firearm shipping is needed-just send it first class, or how ever you want with adequate insurance. Flapjack.
