Galco Holster

I've had a Phoenix for several years. It's an excellent holster. I carry 4 different 4" N frames in it, heavy bbls. and skinny bbls., fixed and adjustable sights. Perfect fit with all. Haven't owned a Cyclone, I'm sure it's a good holster. Highly recommend the Galco.

I was wondering if they could carry different guns in them. I am looking to get a 325 Thunder Ranch and a 627 Pro Series this year. Sounds like the Galco would work for all of them.

I have owned a Bianchi Cyclone for 4" N frames for several years. I carried my 57 and 25-5 in it, but rarely used it as a cross draw. I believe the cross draw would be comfortable enough on horseback, a four wheeler, or in a boat. I prefer the Bianchi 5bhl, like the holsters below the Cyclone in the photo.

The dark brown holster in the bottom RH corner is a Alessi for a N frame. My 657 Mountain Gun mostly rides in it or a Safariland shoulder holster. The Alessi rides high and conceals fairly well, given it is used with a stout belt.

A pancake holster works very nicely for a 4" Mountain Gun. It rides high and tight, and it does not flap against your leg. Your hip bears most of the weight, so it doesn't drag your pants down (with a good, 1-1/2" gunbelt). If concealment is appropriate (to avoid scaring the uninformed), a light jacket or vest does the job. Four inches is about the longest revolver barrel I'd recommend for a high-ride holster. Anything longer works best in a western style holster (e.g., Threepersons), shoulder or tanker type.

A well-fitted pancake holster doesn't need a snap for retention, although they are available in that configuration. Among the qualified makers are Alessi and Grizzle (both personal favorites). They are fitted better than generic (e.g., Galco) brands, use better materials and hold their shape better.

I like the Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake, which can be carried strong side or cross draw. It holds all of my 4 inch N frames........

I would recommend LOBO GUNLEATHER, he makes a really neat flap field holster, pancake, or just about anything you would carry an N frame in. Elpaso Saddlery just takes too long and they have a real spotty record with me for the past few years on holster fit. As a customer since 1961 I am becoming disappointed with them.

I have a Bianchi 111 for my 4" Model 10, and had one for the 6" Model 19 that I sold to my son. I was very pleased with them with both guns. I have no experience with the others.
