I have a .38 cal.2nd model safety hammerless pistol I would like to repair. The part I need is the "split spring".I have tried Numrich and they don't have any.
Anybody have one or can point me towards one?
Thanks
Welcome to the Forum. Parts for vintage revolvers are getting hard to find. I would check Old West Gunsmith, Jack First, ebay, and online gun sites that have a parts section. Last resort is to find a machine shop and have the part made. Good luck.
Jack C, the spring that you desire is the holy grail of the Safety Hammerless Revolver series. They are all but non-existant. You might talk Dave C. at oldwestgunsmith into making one but it will be expensive - guaranteed. Mike #283
Thanks to several on this forum suggesting places to call for a hammer stud nut on my 38 Safety Hammerless I called several places. I've been unable to find this part and as mmaher has stated some parts seem practically non-existant. Today I called Jack First regarding the the hammer stud nut I've been seeking. They have a reproduction nut available. The price; $23.50 plus $9.00 shipping.
