Looking for a year - Model 28

I would like to see if I could get some basic manufacture date information on an older revolver.

It is:

S&W Model 28
Yoke shows Mod 28 - 2
SN S303XXX
Blue Finish in good shape
4" barrel

The original grips have been replaced with some aftermarket grips. Any dates would be helpful.

S303xxx would put the date range at 1967 - 1968, probably 1968.

Welcome to the FORUM! Stocks can be found at reasonable prices if you are patient. I have a 6" no dash from 1960. 1 of my would not part with guns. Bob

Be patient. While I liked the magnas it came with I found a set of target stocks pretty quickly and very reasonable as well.



This is a 1962 28-2 and it shoots much better than I do.
