If you get it stay away from the light weight bullets in the Magnum loads. Try to go with the heavier bullets in the Magnum loads. There have been reports of the forcing cones cracking with continued use of light weight Magnum loads. If you use 38 Spec. +P loads the bullet weight doesn't matter as they don't have the pressure and velocity of the Magnums. Other than that the 19 is a fine choice. Many lawmen carried the 19 as well as the stainless 66. I have a 2 1/2" 66 at home that my wife uses for her home gun.

I carried my M19-3 until I was able to get my hands on a M66. I'd say the blue carbon steel M19 was a touch slicker. Of course, I shot High Performance duty loads in mine without incident but practiced with 158 Lswc loads. I have no regrets & still own the -3.

It is true that some have encountered forcing cone problems with light bullet high velocity loads. Competitors who shot bucket loads of full magnums found that K frame Mags needed periodic tune ups.

Frankly, IMHO K frames are the greatest handling guns I own. Buy it.

I would just like to chime in by saying they are fine revolvers which hold their value well. Of course, how it will suit you depends on what you want it for.

I had a 19/66 variation of some sort since 1972.
I highly recommend this model. Very versitile, good power,
easy to pack.
I picked this one up a couple weeks ago ...1970 vintage.
It needs to go to the safe but I will pack it next weekend at the lease.

Have a 19-4, used to use it all the time in PPC and Bullseye matches. One of my daughters started shooting with me.........Now I don't get to shoot it much anymore.........Correction..........I don't get to shoot it at all.

Get it, shoot it, love it. Nicest revolver they ever made, IMO of course. Regards 18DAI.

The con is you don't have one.
The pro is that if you get it you'll have one of the greatest combinations of size, weight and power ever put in a revolver package.
