Hi guys,
I just got my new les Baer .223 super varmit and Iam looking for the best nightforce scope to put on. I live in north central wisconsin my shooting range would be anywhere from 25 yards to 300 maybe 400 yards shooting coyotes. We will be doing a fair amount of night hunting also. Thanks for the help, Jon

All Nightforce scopes are good. The late Kent Lomont could not break one. If he cannot break it, it is "good to go." Just pick the power appropriate for what you are doing.

Lomont's endorsement shown. Size comparison - .50 BMG is third from right, the 14.5 x 144 Russian is last on right. It is about twice the power of the .50 BMG.

Nightforce

Shawn is correct regarding the Nightforce scopes.....I have Nightforce on two different 50 BMG rifles and a couple others on a 338 lapua Mrad and a custom built 8mm mag...these rifles were purpose built for long range precision work (1000yds plus). In the long range community, especially in the 50 BMG community the Nightforce is the "gold standard".......they are very rugged and their tracking is precise and repeatedable over and over. Pick whichever power range you think will be appropriate for your needs,I have several rifles that I hunt varmints with.....223, 6mm, 22-250 and I have 3X9 and 4X12 optics ( not Nightforce) on them with 1" tubes......I have used these for several decades and taken dozens of coyotes with them.....you can't go wrong with a Nightforce.....a 3X9 or 4X12 will serve you well......good shooting.
