Looking for Colt Python info.

I believe that was the norm and the blue guns had blued hammers(polished sides) and triggers.

I have two unmessed with pythons. The 2 1/2" is completly nickle with nammer and trigger nickle and the blue 4" is blue trigger, top of hammer blue and polished on the sides.

I agree, with the comment the Colt blued hammers tend to rust quickly on carry revolvers. I recently got some stuff called EEZOX to try on my blue DS's

For you Eezox newbes
It is the absolute best dry lube and preservative made. There are posted tests online and I also tested it in salt water and humid environment. It is used for museum pieces and way easier than waxing plus it lubes even dry,
Midway used to sell it but the stopped.
It has TCE and synthetic lube in it so wear gloves as the smell is very hard to remove from your skin. Rubbing alcohol and lemon dish soap is the best to wash you hands with. I like the smell, Use a very little bit as it goes a long way. Clean the gun well first apply it and let it sit before wiping it off.
It is the lube of choice for the Seecamp owners.

Rule 3: I do appreciate the advice on how to handle this stuff. I had requested advice on another forum about what to use on the Colt hammers and EEZOX was recommended. I bought a like new DS a couple weeks ago and it will go into my carry rotation soon. I haven't opened the EEZOX yet. What is TCE?
Solvent as in Brake Cleaner (the Chlorinated kind) The non chlorinated does not have it. Electrical contact cleaner is also TCE
Brownells sells it by the gal. It is the best degreaser and dries fast. Just do not take a bath in it or use in a small enclosed space. (It's not that harmful in small amounts) That's the thing about solvents they absorb real quick on skin. Like the old dry cleaning chemical Carbona or Benzene
Did you get it from Warren Outdoors? Good people.
The Seecampers are rabid about it and Renaissance wax.
Larry Seecamp Jr was friends with the guy that invented the stuff, The little can should last a real long time. I see no need for the wax as the Eezeox will protect the metal better and is easy to use. I thought that was what it was. We used spray cans of the stuff by the truckload in the 60's-70's to clean parts. I thought the stuff was banned. I grew a third foot after smelling that stuff for so many years. It's a PIA as I have to buy two pairs of shoes every other time I wear out a set.

Here (except for the added faux ivory grips) is a standard 4" blue python I own. The trigger is blue, top of hammer kind of blue and the sides of the hammer is polished. I also own a 2 1/2 nickle. They are all nickle, hammer and trigger.
I'm going to break down and send fo a letter. I'll let you know what I find out.
