Looking for a sealed-reticle green dot optic. Prefer Holosun but will consider others.
I was looking at the Holosun EPS but I think it will be too short to co-witness with the tall stock iron sights since that Holosun model appears to be designed for more compact pistols? Maybe it will 1/3 witness?
Suggestions?

The Holosun ESP will be fine with the tall sights . I have the older 407c-gr x2 on a CORE. Same base height and nether my wife and I have any issues with the stock sights as our focus is down range on the target . Just remember to "see" your green dot is not "sight " focused but target focused and once you adjust to that the tall sights should not even be an issue. If your new to dot optics you there is a learning curve for sure. If your use a flash sight picture defensive shooting style with your carry handgun now you may with time and rounds down range notice quickly your no longer glancing thru or over your sights even . If your are new to dot optics the green dot can be floating anywhere on the lens but on your target when you pull the trigger and you will hit where your aiming .

Hope some here makes since to you . On a carry handgun the circle alone works very well at 25 yards on 8" round plates and at 40 yards on well A/B zone full size silhouettes torso hits but for hunting the 2moa dot is fine . I've used a 1"tube type 2moa ultra dot on a revolver for hunting since '90.

There are 2 holosun EPS models. The EPS Carry is the model for the smaller (Shield, etc) pistols. The 'regular' EPS will work with larger FS and Compact models with taller factory sights.

Looks like the regular EPS is the one to go with.
I shall report back to inform how it works out with the stock suppressor height sights.

Good info. This will not be a typical carry pistol. It is being set up for bear defense in a chest holster. Goal is quick target acquisition and re-acquisition. And a slow hunting partner.

You will find the Circle dot combo to be a fine optic option and maybe just the curicle to be enough and save on batter y life and that is looong . The auto adjust is nice when its dusky dark and the sleep mode with the quick or instant awake mode good for battery life too .

I did not figure your 5.6" m&p was a daily carry unless your living off gride in parts of canada or alaska !! ha I used chest holsters too for hunting revolvers in years gone by .

If heavier recoil spring are wanted to try ISMI glock springs are the same and go up to 24lb ? I test so recoil nose up it reduced but I don't get nose down attitude ether when chambering the next round and stay reliable . I run a 20lb in my old M&P 4.25 40sw and the 2.0 5" ported 40sw with underwood ammo .

Good luck .

That one is an open emitter. Looking for closed.

I am hoping sooner than later they will release the SCS in the closed emitter like the one for the Sig.

That said... I really like my SCS even though it's an open emitter.

Got the EPS MRS green dot mounted on my M&P 2.0 PC 10 mm 5.6. Works great!

Plate choices and arranging was fun. No real instructions out there, so have to stack and fit. S&W instructions not helpful for Holosun.

What worked:
Plate 1, then Holosun plate stacked on top.
Lined up the sights nicely.

Stacking plates ? Prehaps s&w did not have a single plate to fit the shorter EPS dot optic ? I sure you will have problems with that stacking of plate's . Might be the EPS optic is new enough that m&p does not have a plate or not in early production boxes when shipped . Steels far superior any how .

Hate to say this But you might want to buy a adaptor plate I linked below for you 10mm . This CH plate has made of steel and has a very thin base for the optic and is a higher quality adaptor more like M&P use to use on earlier generation m&p's .

If a very thin plate then the shorter height of the EPS will not line up with the tall iron sights. The S&W plate acts as a spacer, would likely still need it with the CH plate if want to co-witness.

Well keep the info handy as you might find you will need it down the road .
No one actually cow-witness . Thats works to get your some where around zero but after than you have to find your zero . Our m&p Core is zeroed for 50 yards on a stel thin base plate and there not issues . Good luck long term .

Got it. I am open to learning! Your input is very helpful.
There should be enough similarity with the 4.6 10mm that I can just roll with what others are doing. I can’t imagine an extra inch of slide is going to make a difference unless there was actually a change made on the optic mount area with the 5.6.
Other 5.6 users out there with a Holosun EPS care to chime in?

Not direct feed back but I liked a couple video's linked below where the owner's of the M&P's used the C&H plate I linked above on a M&P with suppressor /optic height sights like yours has . Shows a good video when enlarged . Others can also be found using the C&H plate with the ESP dot optic .

I use to have issues with red dot staring on me unless turned down to a low setting , green does not cause that issue for me .

Ordered the plate. Couldn’t stand the thought-worm you planted.
:p

You won’t be disappointed with the CH plates, I have one on my M&P metal for an eotech and one for an aimpont acro on my sig p320 combat. All steel plate very well made.
