Hi Folks,

Just looking around to see if there are any great 15-22, 25+ rd. magazines that come in the O.D green color. There are so many brands out there, but most are black in color. I believe Plinkster Tactical has some, but don't recall for sure. Any assistance will be appreciated.

Have you considered just painting some?

That is a good idea! Never thought of that for some reason.

What kind of paint do you use on the polymer material mags that will last and endure the abuse? Thanks for that tip!

I haven't personally done it so I can't say. I do know there a LOT of forums and videos that deal with mag painting. Seems there are as many opinions on the best paint. I believe a search would be the best place to start.

If your looking for something that can last, you could look into something like this:

Duracoat Aerosol

It's a one time (48 hour) use can, but looks very cool. I'd probably look to do all your mags at once and maybe any accessories you want OD as well.

I've heard you want to mask off and only paint what sticks out so you don't add extra thickness to the mag in the magwell. Plus I'd strip them down and do all the parts separate and shove some news paper or paper towels in the mag to keep the insides nice and clean for smooth feeding.

Good luck and wouldn't mind seeing what you come up with.

I use camouflage Krylon from Wallymart, spray a nice color coat and then a satin clear....last for a long time. You will get scrapes where the mag drags in the well but the rest will wear just fine. Also, I stick with S&W mags for correct functioning.

As for magazines you can get original S&W black or tan from Gunmagwarehouse for $11.99 +shipping you may want to use the tan for base then paint them so it doesn't get too dark. Search this site or google for information, YouTube may also have DIY info on painting the magazines. there are threads about painting or dyeing them.

You cann get them duracoated which would last longer than paint. I did some for my step daughter's 15-22. Just don't duracoat the portion of the mag that would sit inside the magwell. It may cause issues when you go to take it or put it in
