NOT GUN RELATED! Unless you want expensive pistol storage bags. :D
I just wanted to put a plug in for a great American Company - Farm to Feet Socks. They are all American, to include their supply chain, workers, etc.

I'm hard on socks, with daily use in boots that see a lot of miles, not to mentioned the elements and outdoors of Alaska. I absolutely can't stand plain old white cotton socks, even though they are inexpensive. They are awful on active feet.

Last year I found Farm to Feet at Sportsmans Warehouse and picked up a couple different styles and weights. They are on the higher end cost wise for quality socks but, they seem to be holding out better than any others I've found. They also have a lifetime warranty! If you're unhappy for any reason, they'll refund or exchange them for the life of the sock!
I recently put this to test for the first time. I had a pair of socks I've had for several months and they developed a hole above the ankle area in a non-traditional wear/stress area. I contacted them via email, sent in a quick picture of the sock and they immediately shipped me a new pair. No hassle on my part and I didn't even need to ship in the old ones.

Excellent customer service! In doing my best to support local, buy US made, etc, this is one company that will be keeping me as a customer.

Go check them out and then buy yourself a few pairs!

Are there different weights of wool socks? Say , like for working in summer in steel toe boots. My gold toe socks leave a lot to be desired in the comfort department.

You can buy wool socks for every use, occasion or excuse you would like.

There are several very good brands on the market right now and Farm to Feet and Darn Tough are a couple of the better ones.

I have tried both. The Darn Tough brand seems easier to find around here so that is what i have the most of.

If you are used to buying commodity type socks, be prepared to pay north of $20 per pair for good ones. They are well worth the money.

I have been buying "Worlds Softest Socks" for over 25 years and they live up to their name. They also last a long time. I prefer the over the calf so they stay up.

Might check them out.

Thanks for the heads up and links! Just a thought. My wife has been knitting all manner of socks for many years. The very best work or hunting socks I have ever owned and used have been the ones she custom knits to fit me. She uses yarn that is suited to the use I will make of the socks, season, etc. So ... see if there is someone in your family/friends network who knits. Socks are not a big long time consuming project. There is a lot of variety to maintain interest. The yarn cost is not prohibitive. Your friend/family member may not even charge you for knitting the socks! Sincerely. bruce.

For many years I wore Wig-Wam King Crew heavy weight 100% cotton socks in a light gray color. While they still make them they have cheapened them and raised the price to a ridiculous amount!

I now buy Kirkland (Costco) Merino Wool socks (made in USA) 4 pair for $11.99 and they are FANTASTIC!!!!! LOVE THEM!!!! They are better than the Wigwam and 1/4th the price - much warmer too!!

I went to the site and after scrolling down a ways found some plain conservative socks.
Almost like the Thorlos I’m wearing!
I like Thorlo Socks, been wearing them for awhile.
Made in North Carolina.
