Looking for Info on a 629....

Seems I am always not where my S&W book is.
My question is the 3 inch 629-2E.

Was this what Smith called an "endurance" model ??

That is the 629 Hunter Classic. 3" unfluted Pach grips. It was a factory offering. I forget the number made but it was low. I've seen them sell for over $1500. I bought mine last winter with box and tools for $1100 and felt like I stole it.

The cylinder stop notches are of the type in the Endurance Package

The "Endurance Package" was offered in 1989 and the Model 629 would have been stamped 629-2E (equivalent to the Model 29-4E).
