Picked up this revolver a few months ago in sorry shape: no finish left, rusty, broken hammer, gummed up from old oil, damaged hand, dry and cracked grips with a nut and bolt holding them on.

Cleaned er up, repaired/ replaced parts as needed to get the timing and action running well, and I carefully blasted it and parkerized it.

I have 2 other victory models but both have 4 inch barrels and are marked “us property ghd” with 6 digit serial numbers.
This guy I’m assuming is a lend lease gun based on the 5” barrel but I don’t know if those were United States property marked or if they had the p proof and ordnance bomb.

Any info is appreciated. Thanks in advance

We started shipping Lend-Lease guns around Fall 1941, IIRC, before the "V" series serials were implemented. Your gun has a V serial and the property stamp on the top strap. So, it is definitely LL. Nice job on the refinish, BTW.
Thanks, I am not a professional gunsmith but I have been doing the work since I was about 15. There are still a few things I prefer to send out but I do my best on everything else

Nice work, and a genuine rescue in my book.

From the Victory Model Database I can estimate for you that your revolver likely shipped from the factory in the August-September, 1942 time frame.

Regards,
Charlie
