Good evening, my father just gave me a Smith and Wesson 32 revolver from my great grandmother and I was wondering how old it is. It is the hand eject, serial number 599084 is the only numbers I see on it. Thank you
Here is a picture

Pics!!! (Sorry. Pic was slow to load. I see it now).

That SN would put it somewhere in the mid 1950s. Model numbers stamped in the yoke started around 1958, when your .32 Hand Ejector evolved into the Model 30. They're very fun shooters! These were first built on the smaller i frame. Yours is on the later, slightly larger J frame.

S&W .32 Long, a 4" blue Regulation Police, 4” blue, # 586848, shipped in February 1953.

And to make things clearer, the .32 Hand Ejector and .32 Regulation Police were the same gun except for round vs square butt grip. They shipped in the same SN group. The .32 Hand Ejector (your gun with round butt) became the Model 30 around 1958. The square butt version became the Model 31 at the same time. Hope this helps.

Welcome to the forum.
I bet that revolver resided in a drawer in the kitchen or by the bed. That where my grandma kept hers!
Did they find any ammunition for it? 32 S&W long is not too hard to find.

Yes sir Peyton, she kept it in the nightstand. My dad told me only time she ever fired it was through the screen door at a guy trying to break in haha
Some old ammo came with it, I'm going to look it up tonight and see how old it is too. These older guns are really cool
