Am about to acquire an S+W Model 37, sn#AAM02XX, from a recently deceased family member.

Just trying to get a little info regarding this revolver, date of man, etc.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Welcome aboard, that 37 was probably made November of 1982. As perhaps you're already aware the 37 is the alloy framed version of the venerable Chief's Special or Model 36, a great carry gun. More of a "carry a lot, shoot a little" revolver. For me mostly because the lightweight frame makes it less fun to shoot a lot, though I always run a few rounds of my carry load through one to make sure I can hit what I'm aiming at.

i love my little Model 37-2, so light and easy to carry. They don't make them anymore, so for me they are keepers. Enjoy it.

Stopped back in to see if any new info had been offered about this revolver.

I'm looking forward to it arriving in my LGS this coming week.
