Looking for information on a Model 1911..22 rifle

I looked at a very nice rifle yesturday, and would like some info on it, if anyone knows anything about it...

A friend has the rifle. It is a S%W model 1911 22 targtet rifle. It feels like it weighs about like a 30-06. It has adjustable rear sight.
He said that he thinks it was a target rifle that the Boy Scouts of America used in their compitions....
Of course I tried to buy/trade it from him, but, he won't part with it...But, he said that we could take it to the range and I could shoot it...

Any help with info would be appreciated.

Better go take another look at that .22 S&W never made any .22 Target rifles for the Boy Scouts. Post some pictures , if you can. Other maker's did make .22 rifles used by the Boy Scouts, what is ther serial number ( if any) of the rifle?
