Looking for IWB mag pouch(s) for my Shield

Shield mag pouch

You`re right, those mag holders for Shields don`t grow on trees. For the longest time I have used a Masters clip-on for a 1911 mag and it did OK. Not perfect, but OK. The Shield mag fits it a little loose. Finally, I just ordered a clip-on made for the Shield made by Wright Leather. It (gulp) was a little hard to bite that amount for a mag holder but I was ordering a holster for a 686 3" I just got so I figured I was negating the freight charge. When looking at Wright`s offerings I believe he makes a IWB also. If not, then turn the clip-on inward.

Good Luck,John

Have you looked at the Remora site. They have IWB sticky mag holders. I use their holster for my 640 Pro and it does not move in my pants so I imagine the mag holder would work the same.

Check out Overwatch Holsters. They offer a kydex one for the Shield and I currently have one on order so cannot comment as to how well it will work. The craftsman from there is a member here on the forum.

Good Luck.

Good Luck.

I checked the site out. Seems pretty reasonably priced. I think I will give in and get one. Thanks!

you should check out Gold Star Holsters. They make mag holsters and do a great job.

I found leather 1911 mag pouches work well with the Shield mags. The leather will stretch a little to hold them tightly. Some leather IWB mag pouches have a tension screw for adjustment as well.

Try kytexgear I am using several of their mag pouches.Including one for the shield and it works great.

The Remora mag pouch is pretty versatile. You can use it IWB like any 'Sticky' IWB holster, as well as for rear (or front) pocket carry, to keep it in place, upright and not 'clunking' around.

With Remoras, like leather, you might need to 'exercise' (work) it a bit so that it's not too snug.

Never got to where I wanted to carry a magazine IWB along with a gun IWB.

If my shirt is untucked I second using the kytexgear.com unit for OWB as it's easy to put on and take off.

With a tucked or untucked shirt, I sometimes use a soft nylon folding knife case with a belt loop and velcro flap which covers the magazine.

Another favorite of mine is a Desantis mag packer. With that I pocket carry the magazine without rounds getting loose and it keeps the magazine in a good position for retrieval.

OK here comes the dreaded ..."its not an inside waist band, but..."

I carry pistol inside waist band and then having the mag pouch inside too is a little too much for me. I found the Safariland # 123 mag pouch. It is meant to be worn horizontal on the belt and is very comfortable. Not expensive at all ether.
