Ok I did a search and the last thread I found on this topic was a couple of years old.

So.....

What sights do you like and why? Of course people with experience with multiple ones helps when narrowing the choices.

There are several good brands. Some new ones available now too. The one's I've had are; Meprolight, Trijicon. Recently I put an XS Bigdot on my front sight of a J frame. If you have a good gun shop, or sporting goods store near, take a look at some they have for sale. Ultimately, the best advise is to actually take a look at them and decide.

I have a question, do you really want to discharge your firearm when it is so dark that night sights come in handy? Would you be able to see well enough to safely say that you are shooting a BG and not a friendly? I was all for night sights. I have them on my gun that is attached to my night stand. Night sights were the only post type of sights available for the Steyr (I hated the trapezoid sights it had). I also have a flashlight attached to the tac rail. I took the gun into the bathroom, no windows, and turned off the lights. The Trijicons lite up beautifully. The only problem was, I could not see jack. If there was someone else in the bathroom with me I would not be able to see if it was a bad guy or a family member. When I turned on the flashlight, the trijicons turned into regular sights, but I could actually see where the gun was aimed. I was now aware of my surroundings. I understand that night sights are all the rage. But before you jump on the night sight band wagon, stop and think, do you really want to discharge your firearm when there is not enough light to see who or what you are shooting at?
For me, I am going with Warren Tactical FO sights with a light for my 9c. I know that there are pluses and minuses to using a flashlight. But I would rather see what I am aiming at than pulling the trigger and praying that it was not a friendly that I shot.

Night sights are not intended for total darkness, but rather low light. Most self defense shootings happen in less than optimal lighting. Night sights just make it a little easier to pick up the sights under those conditions.

I like the TruGlo TFO sights for my M&P.

I had a set of Meprolites put on my Glock 22 about 15 years ago.
They still glow just fine.

I understand that. While my bedroom is "dark" at night, there is enough light to see plenty. I can easily identify the different pieces of furniture and I am able to walk around my room at night and not fear running into something. My night sight glow very prettily in my bedroom's ambient light. It is a "low light" situation. However, is it light enough to be able to tell without a doubt that the unexpected person in my bedroom is a BG and not a family member, no.
