20190528_205001.jpg my Henery longranger in 308; my wife bought this for our 25 wedding anniversary :). So the recommendations that I need is were can I get a awsome leather sling? I have scoped the rifle, shame on me for not having an updated photo and please post your rifles and slings. Thanks in advance.

I have two type of slings on rifles with swivel studs. Depending on what is available when I want one: Nylon and Leather. My nylon slings are a thick green 1 or 1 1/4 inch nylon that are very comfortable (not the thin black junk in the hardware store!) or the traditional adjustable leather (M 1903?) These are very expensive, so I find them use at shows and shops. Often they have one of the sections missing, unless you are shooting in a Service Rifle Match a missing section is OK. Either sling is hugely adjustable, and will allow you to try different set ups and lengths.

For a nice sporting/hunting rifle I like the Half twist of a Hasty sling. These are very fast on and off, and are great for a quick offhand shot at targets or even medium fast moving game, (like a trotting coyote!

Thanks for the great advice, but I was hoping to get some recommendations for more custom leather sling. On most of my rifles I have the claw, which I really like. I thinks since is my forever rifle that is deserved something special.

first of all.......
what a tremendous wife that you have
great gift

for your sling
These folks are simply amazing
Ive had a few holsters and a belt made by them.
A family owned biz in upper Mn , just real salt of the earth people.
Expect to spend time on the phone with them , describing what you need , these people measure twice to cut once.
small biz run the right way ! the end result is a product that you will pass down to family members

Forum member SnubbyFan does right nice leatherwork at reasonable prices. I haven't seen that he's made a rifle sling recently, but he's more than capable . . .

Depends on the use of the sling. If it is for simple carry and good looks, have a custom leather one made. If you use it as a steadying device, there is nothing better than the Military adjustable sling.

some of the nicest leather slings I've used are the ones made by Montana Sling.
Thick beautiful leather, easily adjustable without having all the claws and hook holes of a military leather sling.
