Only five shots-but I'm a traditionalist-and my wife carries an old M36. My carry guns are old too. But she's good with it-and very safe-likes to shoot it.

Well, how about a 2 1/2" 686+? Seven shots of your choice of 38 or 357 and absolutely the most scary 357 going if you happen to be on the wrong end!

That's why I often carry my 66 2.5", it's scary and sexy.

I won't get into the J and K frame options. Mine is a 2 1/2 686 plus. Six round 7 rounds no big difference to me.

A little over you 20 oz but gives you a feeling of real protection when carried.

Just threw the round butt M12 snub on the scale. It weighs 18 oz empty.

The 4 inch weighs 21 oz.

Hardly notice the weight when holstered and relatively pleasant to shoot.

I have a Model 64 snub nose K frame with 6 shots and it's great. I love it because being stainless it's easy to clean and it's a shooter and accurate

I own a 64 snub also, and it carries and conceals very nicely. One of the best actions on any of my many smith k frames. Would be an excellent choice

686. 3" 7shot, 3" gets full ejector rod for positive reload. I use a galco combat master pancake,its a 2.5" and fits 3" fine!

I carry a 442 or a 638 or a 640 daily, in a Lobo enhanced pancake holster on a Lobo belt. On those rare occasions when I decide to take the 2" 64, also in a Lobo enhanced pancake, I'm always surprised at how heavy it is. (I'm also surprised at how easy it is to snag the hammer on a cover garment when I practice drawing from concealment with it at the range.)

I'll usually go ahead and carry the 64 for the day, but I'm always glad to put one of the lighter guns on the next day. And glad not to give a thought to snagging a hammer should I have to draw it.

Might also want to look for a nice older K frame snubby like this 1949 M&P. This thing has a butter-smooth trigger and shoots to POA at7 yards

My newest carry revolver is a 2-1/2" 66. Very easy to shoot and quite accurate. Also heavy. Maybe my favorite is a Colt Agent with shrouded hammer. It is just slightly bigger than a J frame, but holds six rounds. It can be fired single action if desired. With the aluminum frame, it probably is a couple of ounces heavier that my 642, but that's about all.
