Aloha to all. I just ordered a 5.5" Model 41 pistol. Yippee for me! Now I'm looking for an online vendor that has the 10 round magazines in stock that are reasonably priced. Any good leads will be appreciated. Mahalo in advance.

Try Midway & Brownells. Sometimes they go on sale. Midway is generally cheaper.
.....Add CDNN but be aware of the $15 min S&H charges

You may as well get the 12 rounders. No difference in price, and you're going to have to backorder them, anyway. Brownell's expects some about mid-December. They fill backorders first, so go ahead and get your order in if you don't find someone with mags in stock.

MidwayUSA and Brownells are OOS. I would buy the 12 round magazines but I live in Hawaii and there is a 10 round limit on pistol magazines (30 round magazines are okay for AR-15 and AK-47 in Hawaii). Any way most vendors will not ship pistol magazines that are more than 10 rounds in capacity to Hawaii. Thanks for the replies.

Try Ed's Sport Shop in Tamaqua, PA. I see them at the large guns shows in PA. They specialize in hard to find factory magazines, and keep a huge inventory. Tel. 570-668-6144, Fax 570-668-6144, [email protected]

Aloha robmcd and colt_saa for your suggestions. I decided to go directly to the S&W website and order a bunch of them from them. I should receive them in a couple days.

Well I placed my order for the S&W Model 41 magazines on the S&W website. The magazines are on back order

. Oh well. But I lucked out on MidwayUSA and they had a few in stock so I ordered 10 of them

. I also received my new Model 41 today. Looks like an early Christmas for me.

Even we who have been shooting more than 60 years can learn something, so may I ask what you need 10 magazines for?

Hi Joel. The reason I bought 10 magazines (and have 8 more backordered) is that it is just so much more convenient when I go shooting on open days at the local range. Open days are only 4 days out of the month and open day is only 3 hours long so I have to make the best of it. I load my magazines up before I go to the range and then shoot at my leisure. I've got an HK speed loader to help aid in loading these magazines in between shooting sessions. Too bad the Ultimate Clip Loader isn't designed to work with the Model 41 magazines.

BTW, I have on average have 10 magazines per pistol in my collection. I ordered more for the S&W Model 41 as I suspect I'll be shooting it a lot more than my other pistols

. All the best.

I like plenty of mags with my pistol too. Seems like about 10 is right. Then, I can let the gun cool while I load mags again. This doesn't work shooting suppressed because the suppressor gets too hot after only about 5 mags.

Man, do I feel like a lightweight, have owned hundreds of guns over the past 60 years and never owned more than three mags for any one gun.

And, yes, I shoot a lot. Have owned as many as six reloading machines and as many as eight conversion kits at one time. I buy .22LR 3,250 to 5,000 rounds at a purchase.

I live, I learn. Thanks for the replies. I concede it would be a dull world if we were all alike...

I am the opposite. I have so many mags that I now have 2 of these just to store the pistol mags in.

I normally try to have enough mags to load 50 or now 100 rnds per gun. Thus for my 41's I have 14 mags for 2 guns right now or my Sig 210's I now have over 40 mags.

My reason is simple. Mags a cheap and time savers. I have a limited time at the range and I am there to shoot. Not load mags. Thus I load my mags at home and then shoot until they are empty. I then will pack up most days and go home.

Mags are a semi-disposable item. A semi or full auto is little better than a club without a mag. This is another reason to own some extras. With a parts kit and some mags, your heirs can shoot "Old Grandaddy's" pistol for a long time in the future.
