Greetings!

As mentioned previously, I'm running 2SDBs, one for SPP and the other for LPP. These 2 machines will be loading (at the moment) 5 different cartridges, but potentially 7 or 8 different bullet shapes. To minimize the time lost readjusting the dies, I plan to run dedicated tool heads for each bullet. I don't own an engraving pen, but I want to mark each head's seating die for the bullet type.

How would you recommend that I mark these dies?

As always, thanks in advance for your help!

Maybe a small sticker on the top using fine felt pen?
A small paper tag with the wire wrapped around the threads?
Paint pen marking the top of the toolhead?
Color coded using paint pens?
In the past, I have used one of the wall hanging key keepers with small colored tags that slide into slots on the key rack. I think that they have them up to 8, maybe 10 slots. You could attach the same style of very light wire to the key ring to keep them in order? The link is a slightly different style, but seems like it would work well? I use inexpensive 3D printed stands I get off eBay. I think I have about 8 different caliber sets and use these little stands. You could write in felt tip on the stand and put a number on the tool head and stand so they don’t get mixed up.

I had 2 SDB’s at one time, now one, but never felt I needed to do much adjustment when swapping bullet profiles in a given caliber. But over time I pretty much settled on one type of bullet for each caliber and was never in such a rush I couldn’t give a turn or two with a wrench to adjust seating.

Mark the caliber on the powder die clamp with a black marker felt tip pen

My 550b tool heads have a large (almost) flat ends. I use the traditional Majic Marker. It will mostly clean off with Rubbing Alcohol or Strong nail Polish Remover (Acetone).

Set up tool heads are worse than worthless if not properly identified! I also label the powder drops with Cartridge, powder & Charge.

[Did you know US 869 powder looks just like H-110, Don't ask how I mixed up the 338 Lapua Mag. drop and the 221 Fireball drop or the mess that made!]
