I think the lcp is the gold standard for micro pocket carry. I upgraded to the max for a fatter grip and real sights.

I have multiple samples of both.
I would recommend the a Bodyguard if not for their light firing pin strike issues.
My 2 Ruger LCP Max's are just fine.

I've been very pleased with my LCP Max. It has night sights I can see without my glasses. Ten plus one is nice in such a small package. The trigger is decent. Plus, it has been completely reliable.

I carry it in my front pocket in a Cross Breed pocket holster. I looks like I might a cell phone in my pocket. The soft holster from the factory printed to much in my blue jean's pocket.

The LCP Max has become my everyday carry.

LCP MAX…

…is my choice. Got it just a couple weeks ago and Remora and Urban Carry (OWB) holsters arrived Thursday.

No chance to use the OWB holster yet but the Ruger is great with the Remora.

Be safe.

Have a Max and it should be a great defensive pocket gun, just don't like shooting it. So, I recently had a chance to shoot a Kimber Micro 380 and it was instant magic. Now I own one of those, too. Except for capacity, it's everything I wanted the Max to be. I'm keeping both, though.

LOTS of Bodyguards develop light hammer strike issues. I have two of them, and quit carrying them because of that.
For some reason, S & W has not been able to figure out how to re-engineer the design and eliminate the problem.
My guns are accurate, thin, and easy to carry. But not reliable.

I gotta shoot mine more. I hear about the light strikes but mine has been 100% reliable. Virtually round fired were my reloads, with maybe 100 rounds of factory. I did have an issue with the magazine catch. It was plastic and slamming the mag in would wear it out and mags would drop free. You had to press the mag release to insert a mag so the catch wasn't slammed.

I sent it in to S&W and they replaced it with a metal one, but the mags kept dropping out during firing. My thumb was nowhere near the mag release. I sent it to Galloway Precision, and they installed their own. No more mag drops, but have to press the mag release to insert a mag. No big deal. It's a quality metal part,

I should shoot it a lot more to see if light strikes pop up.

If I could figure out how to post pictures I'd lay the lcp,lcp max, and body guard together for you. You can forget the bodyguard is in your pocket, it's paper thin. And shoots better than the lcp. The lcp max is thicker, Carrie's twice the ammo and fits the hand better. I shoot the max better than the other two, the feel is better, trigger is softer and has real sights.
I have to conceal at work as we are not allowed to carry in the shop, the smith conceals the easiest do to shap. But the max goes every day because it just shoots better. They are all reliable, but the max hits where I point it much better and is easier on the hands with much faster follow up shots.
My best thunder shoots better yet but is much larger and heavier in the pocket.
My sig p365 and 938 are both pretty small but I cant draw cleanly from my pocket, and are snappier than any of the 380's I own.
A j frame sized revolver I can draw from my pocket cleanly with a boned hammer.

The LCP Max is simply the best EDC/CCW .380 available today - in my opinion of course. !0+1 or 12+1 with the slightly larger magazine and the sights are great! The action usually smooths out and is far better than the BG from my experience shooting a bunch of them over the years. The pistol is very accurate, 10.5 oz's and reliable. Of course the downside is - it's still a .380. With well placed shots it should get the job done but as most here know, in the heat of battle a well placed shot is not always easy to achieve.

The Urban Carry LockLeather OWB…

…holster is terrific with the LCP Max.

Have used it regularly the last few days and it is well suited for the task.

Has an internal "lock" to retain the gun. Cannot figure how it works, exactly, but it sure does. Great service and quick delivery, too.

Be safe.
