Loretta Lynn

I really liked the Van Leer Rose deal Jack White did with her. It put her back on top of country for a while, Johnny Cash, Waylan Jennings, Glen Campbell, and Loretta could hold their own with them.

Mt little woman goes out periodically with her friends. As she leaves the house, I always quote a Loretta song to her.

"Don't come home a drinkin, with lovin on your mind."

I really liked the videos. Two great people and two great performers. :)

Cissy Spacek did her own singing in "Coal Miner's Daughter". Later I saw her and Loretta together singing a duet on TV. If I closed my eyes it was difficult to tell which was which. It was as uncanny as John Belushi and Joe Cocker singing together on SNL.

I saw an interview with Cissy Spacek in which she talked about recording the music for the movie.

Miss Spacek said she was having trouble getting Lynn's vibrato to sound right and decided to ask her about it.

She said Miss Lynn gave her a quizzical look and said, " 'Vibrato'? Darlin', I just put my arm up over my head and shake it real fast..."
