Lubricating semiautomatic pistols

Does anybody use military LSA to lub their firearms (besides the military) I hear about all sorts of oils and grease...but never LSA mentioned on the forum.

There are all sorts of wonderlubes on the market. Generally speaking, firearms do not stress the properties of lubricants very much. Use what makes you happy.

Weapons Shield is my favorite at the moment.
FP-10 is good.
Hoppe's gun oil isn't fancy or sexy, but it works fine.

I have been using REM-oil on the innards and Mobil Synthetic Red Hi-temp grease on the Rails and the outside of the barrel.

Gunzilla, great product both for cleaning and lubrication. Weapon shield also a top choice. I currently use gunzilla and may try weapon shield next based on reviews that state weapon shield has the edge in lubrication and gunzilla edge for cleaning. I use Break-Free CLP for cleaning and lubrication. It works for me (my pistols are clean and don't malfunction), the price is reasonable (I just bought a new 4 ounce bottle for $5.69), and it doesn't bother the family (my wife asked that I clean my pistols outside when I used Hoppe's 9, but CLP doesn't bother her).

I like the Gunzilla too. It does a nice job of cleaning the rings on the front of stainless revolver cyclinders. And it smells good too.

Amen! Most of the hype you read about wonder lubes is written by some guy with a degree in advertising who may not even own a gun! Unless you have some weird environmental circumstances to contend with, just buy a good gun oil and go shooting. I'm using Breakfree CLP simply because it is what I have on the shelf at the moment.

Steve here... I use TW25B from Milcomm... This is a white synthetic grease that comes with new Sigs from the factory... I bought a big tube on line. I use this on all my sigs, and my S&W M 41.
my old Colt national match I use shooters choice red grease. Once it's gone I will use the TW25b on that as well

I'm glad to hear this. The Kimber Owners Manual actually says not to use grease of any kind anywhere on the gun.

LSA always worked fine for me when I used it on M-16 bolts and 1911 rails. Used it on my S&W .38s too. In a sandy environment some recommend a dry lube like militec.

Never a malfunction in my firearms.
