Luck at the pawn shop

Pawn shops are usually not my friend but today made up for a lot of futile trips. I've been looking for a "shooter" model 10 with a skinny barrel for several months now. I'd about given up and resorted to GB when I happened into a shop in a nearby town this morning. Not only did they have a virtually new model 10-6, they were willing to part with it at what I considered to be a bargain price. The enclosed picture does not do it justice.

Ed,
That is a beauty, you might consider posting it in the fixed-sight-blue-beauties thread:

Ladder, your knowledge of Smiths exceeds my eyesight. With a magnifying glass I confirmed your suspicions. It is indeed a -5,

A very nice Model 10 indeed. If it is a 10-5, shouldn't it be sporting the diamond grips?

Silvercoin,
I'm certainly not up to speed on these things. It is definitely a 10-5. I just took the grips of to check numbers. Each panel is stamped KPC in large letters and the right grip only is stamped with the serial number of the gun.

"The Book" says the diamond grips were dropped in '67 with D1 serial number. Mine's D91xxx, so everything sounds OK.

If you consider that a "shooter grade", I'd hate for you to see mine. Great find.
