Yesterday, I was at a local range and since it was gorgeous weather, 75F and a light breeze, I decided to do my annual J Frame lube. I took off the side plate and proceeded to lube the critical points and then it happened. I did a final trigger cycle on the 442 with it laying on the bench on its left side when I saw something fly out of the gun very fast & by a stroke of luck I managed to trap it on the bench with my hand before it took an opposing team "bounce". It was the FP capture pin. I got it reinserted properly and did a quick test fire. All is well.
I have never had this happen before. I was damn lucky to have caught the small pin.
