Hello folks,
I continue to have problems with my M41 when using Federal 711-B (Gold Medal Target SV ammo). I can use Wolf MT, Eley, CCI SV and RWS SV, no problem. Federal tells me that their primers are not "overly sensitive" in the 711-B.
Any ideas why this is happening? I have never adjusted the trigger on the M41, but since it also happens that my Benelli MP-90S also doubles with 711-B occasionally, I just assumed it was a 711-B issue. A M41 acting like a 93-R Beretta might sound fun, but it destroys a nice group quickly. If this isn't a mechanical or trigger adjustment issue, I'll just keep feeding the M41 CCI or Wolf, but it really shoots 711-B best.
Thanks!

I had the problem with a High-Standard, turned out there was a small dimple rasied on the chamber mouth. Right were the firing pin would hit, was actually "slam firing" setting the primer off from the front side of the rim instead of the back.

Some guns like certain ammo, and dislike others. My personal M41 works well with most, but absolutely hates Remington branded ammo. I don't know exactly why, but it just will not cycle reliably with the Remington. Even with the cheap Winchester Wildcat stuff it perks along just fine.

I have a Belgium, Browning A-5 that works flawlessly with almost any type of shells, but does not reliably eject the Winchester low brass (skeet loads) game loads. The high brass Winchester (hunting loads) work just fine. Go figure!

I would wager the case rims on the 711B are a mite thicker than the other ammo you are firing. A slight burr on the chamber mouth and you have the makings of a slam fire.

Ever since Federal changed the case design and did away with the "dimple" I have not been able to get it to shoot well in any of my .22 auto loaders.
