I have a new PC M41 I've taken to the range 4 times so far. I have fairly small hands. I really like the M41 standard grips because I shoot both right handed and left handed. I've shot about 500 rounds as of today and I find the standard grips on my PC M41 are a bit too thick for me. However, I do like the thumb rest but it's not a deal breaker because I shoot 1911's also. I was wondering if anyone knows how thick the Hogue grips are? Or if anyone knows how the Altamont grips are for thickness and quality? Also, I've heard about the Herrett grips without thumb rests. Any advice please? Thanks

Thin grips for Model 41

I was looking for the same thing. A forum member (Gar L) was kind enough to sell me a set he had of
Harrett Flat Trainer Grips. These are on my Model 46.
Here's some photo's. I did have some very minor fitting to do, a few minutes with some sandpaper and I was all set. I looked for Harrett H-41 grips, but at the time they were not available. These, according to Gary would fit both Models 41/46

Thanks Hognfrog...the Herretts look thinner. I'm hoping someone out there has also tried the Altamonts. I gather that the Hogue grips are thicker than the originals.

So are the Altemonts. They are a slightly fatter grip but really nicely made the very same design. I have them in Cherry Wood on my M46 right now.

Maybe you could find a used pair of grips and sand them down to fit your hand better.

Great idea that many overlook because it requires "skill".

I was just going to say make your own. Should be easier than other guns. Getting an already made pair and modifying would probably be the easiest though.

Look into some Karl Nills. They make great stocks for actual competition/professional use. Well worth the money, especially compared to "custom" makers.
