I'm cleaning out the safe and I have a set of M-58 grips. They are from the 70's (non-diamond). I got them on a very early M-58 and have since replaced them with period correct grips. How much should I ask for these? Thanks!

M-58 grips

Those grips have the stainless washers in the inside putting them toward the end of Model 58 manufacturing around 1980. No doubt they were for a Model 58 as they are the PC "plainclothes" style rounded at the bottom. As I recall, the Model 58 was the only N frame issued with PC grips. Probably $25 to $50 or so.

The silver washers started approx 1974. You have a couple mini chips along the edge of the one horn. They do look very nice though and have good checkering.
They generally sell from $75-$90 for an excellent pair on this Forum.
They were only used on 58's and 520's.

Good Luck

I'd surely like to see a set of these PC grips in that kind of condition sell for $25-$50!

Even a couple of years ago the going rate was close to $100.

When you sell them, if you include the serial number [that is stamped on the inside of the right panel] in your ad it will help potential buyers get close to their serial numbers.
It is somewhat tough to find a Model 58 or 520 from this period with the actual/ proper numbered grips to the gun. For some reason, S&W mixed them up (the numbered grips) on a good number of them before they left Springfield.

Those are in the range that i need. Email or PM me a price if you are interested in selling, thanks.

Interesting note on Model 58 grips

I was just looking at the original factory grips on my Model 58, serial #N1146XX, purchased new in 1974. They have the PC magna grips with the blued washers on the inside, but no serial number stamped on the right hand grip.

These are stamped 278770, so they should be from about 1975/1976. (Don't have my book handy right now though.) I appreciate all the replies.

M58 grip value

I recently purchased a set of N frame PC's from an ad on Ebay. The ser no. is 560007, which I believe has them coming from a 520. They are extremely nice and I paid $75 plus shipping for them. Dean
