M 64-0

I would say a good price is $500 or less, fair up to about $625.

One of the few stainless guns I would be willing to buy if I came across one.

A bit late to this one, but congrats on your find. Those pencil-necks balance and point like no other.

Does anyone know if they all had smooth backstraps, or were some of them grooved?

I was referring to a no dash, just put in a -0 to clarify. Revolver shoots great, sold another M64 at a profit, so I managed to upgrade the collection. This is getting addictive.

When the local University of Southern Mississippi went from unarmed night watchmen to a certified police department back in the early 70's the new "police officers" were issued the model 64 pencil barrel. They have since progressed to 9 MM Glocks. I have had one for many years that I paid less than $200.00 for. I mix up my zero turn mower guns, and this one is sometimes in the mix. It is very accurate for fixed sights. I also have a pinned heavy barrel model 64 from EBRPSO (East Baton Rouge Parish Louisiana). Sometimes it goes on mower or tractor patrol. I have dispatched poisonous snakes and tasty rabbits with both. For some reason neither one seem to be scared of a lawn mower.
