Hi all. Has anyone got the magpul m-lok typ2 rail covers on there new M&P 25-22 sport . And if so are they a good fit.

I have the new M&P 15-22 Sport MOE SL with the M-Lok rails. I'm not sure if you are talking about the rail cover sections that come with the rifle. It comes with 6 sections that will fill/cover 6 slots as desired. They fit well and add a little 'solid' feel for the section they are used on. The SL handguard is pretty slim, as its name implies, so they also add a little girth as well.

Yes that was what i was talking about I just ordered a M&P 15-22 back here in the uk and have ordered some covers in black and FDE

I have them and they are an excellent fit. Very happy how it turned out and the gripping surface is aggressive enough to keep sweaty / wets hands from slipping.
The instructions regarding installation of the Mlok in my owners manual for my 15-22 basic model, cover about 3 pages.
What they don't mention is if you have to remove the handguard to install them.
With the 'keymod' type, you do have to remove the handguard in order to install the backplate.
So, do you have to remove the handguard on the 15-22 to install the M-lok?
Anyone know?

Handguard stays in place. The M-Lok nut is designed to rotate once inserted through the slot and lock in place.
Quick question about the type 2 rail covers. Has anyone mixed the colors with these? I'm looking to do something similar to the photo but unsure how they come apart and if they have to be glued back together once apart? It says they are scored so they can be snapped apart and reassembled as desired, not to clear.

Here is a trick that I learned to ease the install of accessories on M-LOK handguards. Much easier than measuring /trial and error the instructions put you through.
Put the accessory in place with the nut(s)/backing plate(s) into the slot and then turn the Allen screw so the nut is drawn all the way in to the accessory. Then start to slowly back the(same) screw off while keeping downward pressure on it. (This will start pushing the nut deeper into the slot. )At some point when it gets deep enough to clear the slot, you will feel the nut slip/rotate behind the hand guards inner surface. As soon as it does that, reverse the wrench and tighten the screw again ( just a turn or two) and it will lock your accessory in place.

I've got those covers on both my 15-22 rifles. Installation couldn't be easier. They just snap in, and removal is easy also. I use a tiny screwdriver, and gently pry it up. Mixing colors is as easy as just swapping them around. The extra grip they provide is definitely an improvement.

Just bought a M&P 15-22. The first thing I wanted was a vertical grip, and I bought a M-LOK version.
There was no way to see inside both the hand guard and the grip. So I tried your trick, Easy Peasy !
