I want to mount a RMR, and I'm concerned that the supplied plastic plates may not be sufficient for the 10mm. The instructions indicate to use the one metal plate that is supplied for 40 S&W, but it is only for the Leupold DPP.

Is the supplied plastic plate adequate, or should I order the C&H metal plate?

Not sure this will help, but I went right to the CHPWS plate from the get go due to reading several post here and other reviews and fourms where the plastic plate didn't hold up.

I believe there was a member here who had his Holosun snap off and hit him in the head.

I think maybe the plastic is not solid enough to take the brunt of the recoil off the screws, and can eventually fail the screws sometimes.

Then there are reviews and post where 1000's of rds were fired with no issues with the plastic plates.

You will in the end have to decide for yourself and maybe your own peace of mind on what you will want to do.

I put 300 rds on my plastic plate while I waited for the CHPWS plate to come in.

This is the one I got
S&W M2.0™ C.O.R.E. to Trijicon RMR / SRO / Holosun 407C / 507C / 508C / 508T - C&H Precision Weapons

So far so good...

So far so good for me. I recently installed a Holosun 507c (No. 1 S&W plastic plate and Holosun long screws) on my 4.6" M&P 10mm 2.0 and took it to the range a couple of days ago to check it out and zero the red dot. I only ran about 100 rds through the 10mm (180g FMJ factory ammo), but had no F2Fs or issues with the red dot. I came home and cleaned my pistol, and checked the 507c...still snug and zero'd. I'll be heading back to the range after the holiday to put some more rounds down range. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Mine let go at about 3-400 rounds. Smacked me right in the forehead and left a small gash. It sucks to have to pay even more but why not have it as secure as possible. I also like how the Cand H plates fill the gap in front of and behind the optic to leave no room for wiggle. Prob 500 rounds now on the new setup and still solid. I also used C and H screws that came with the plate.

My son manages several local gun stores, and he highly recommends the C&H plates for those folks that want to replace their OEM plastic plates. A little pricey but will last forever. As I said above, I haven't had any issues with the plastic plate that came with my M&P 10mm 2.0.
