Hello everyone...I'm new to the site and am wondering about something... I recently purchased a M&P15-22 and discovered that the 25 round mags as well as others are not to be found due to this hysteria that's going around... I was able to order 3 10 round mags from S&M and received them today... I guess my question is, as they are the same size as the 25 round mags, has anyone figured how to retrofit them to 25 round mags......as some history, I have a Walther P22 and 2 Henry 22's ..a golden boy and the basic one. I bought the M&P 'cause of the proposed ban on this type of weapon andwould like to have a couple more 25 round mags if possible ....Thank you all for any response if applicable.......Rick in Cleveland Ohio

Wecome from your southern neighbor in West Virginia. Actually just south down the road about 4 hours on I77. Welcome aboard!

I can't believe how crazy the magazine availability is.
10 round mags on e-bay for $80 is insane.
I've been wanting a couple of shorty 10 round mag, but no way.
Why isn't S&W coming out with a statement for their customers?

And what would they say?

"We have so many orders we have a hard time filling them"?

S&W and Promag are shipping albeit very slow. Promag won't charge your card until they ship. My patience paid off after waiting almost a month with 2 32rd promag mags and 2 S&W 10-25.

Don't get sucked into the overpriced hype on the auctions. Any proposed ban is a ways off.

Easy to remove the limiter roll pin, just take your time. I took an old straight blade screwdriver and filed a "V" notch in it with a small triangular file. This made it easy to keep the screwdriver on the pin while pounding it. Take is slow, the pin will bend a bit with each whack with a mallet (took me maybe 6-7 moderate blows to get it done).

I also used a towel under the magazine to cushion the blow a bit. I did not want to risk cracking the case itself, since these magazines are so scarce. Maybe a bit overcautious, but why tempt fate? :)

Not if you live in NY! We have until April 13th to buy all the 10 rounders we can. After that it becomes illegal. What we have acquired before that date can only be loaded with 7 rounds.

Removing the pin with a screwdriver and hammer works like a charm. Couple light taps to bend the pin and then 1-2 harder hits to knock it out. Took all of a couple minutes from dissassembly to reassembly. The pin is hollow. Loaded 25 with no problem. Haven't fired it with the modded mag yet. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.

Wow I hate it for gun owners in NY. When I heard the news it pissed me off and I don't live there. That has got to be the craziest law I have heard to date. I hope the law is challenged successfully but NY is so anti gun I don't know if it will or not. What have they said about revolvers like the 627 that hold 8 and the 617 that hold 10? I have wondered since I heard the new law was in effect.

Should it become necessary, how do you prove that you made the mod to the long 10-rounder before a 10 round band went into effect? As far as I know, you can't.

KEep your dated sales invoice.

The last ban required mags to be date stamped.

No one in the NYS government cares about revolvers or illegal pistols mostly only evil black rifles.
