I just got both the m and p and the slide fire. I still need a trigger before I can start rockin and rollin.
If anyone has this combo and has gotten it to do full mag dumps consistantly, please list the parts you used to do it. Trigger? misc. springs? lubrication? Any polishing? Technique? Any thing else?

I know it has no practical use. I just wanted it for the fun factor.

Thanks

Do a youtube video search. I saw one recently that showed a guy that made a special muzzle device to generated more recoil so the Slidefire would work as designed.

They couldn't get it to work properly with the standard birdcage flash hider due to the low recoil of the .22.

I have watched all the Youtube videos relating to the m and p/slide fire and got some info there. The guy in the video you are referring to makes and sells those reverse muzzle breaks so I am less inclined to believe him over guys on this forum that might have first hand experience with the combo and might want to help me and anyone else that might be interested.

Can you use that VFG with the Slidefire? I seem to recall something about needing a loose grip with your fore hand for it to function properly?

There seems to be numerous issues making the Slide Fire work on these. On mine, it did not appear to be one thing but a combination of many. Most if not have been posted on here. What the issues were:

*Using KNS pins to keep the Timney trigger tight.
*Metal shims under the set screws (again to keep trigger tight).
*Clipped firing pin spring 3 coils.
*Make sure all points of movement are well lubricated (including mag)
*Keep bolt group clean.
*I machined firing pin for a little additional length.
* Use good ammo. Mine likes CCI Mini Mag.

Again, not sure that any one of these alone is the solution but the sum of all these has made mine cycle pretty close to 100% using the Slide Fire. Some people may have other ideas/suggestions but these worked for me.

Just shot it the other day it it runs through a full mag over and over without issues. Mine will shoot fine with the muzzle break on or through my supressor. Lastly, as it has been posted, a proper grip is key or none of the above will make a bit of difference.

I don't think so. It's just something I had that I replaced on another gun. It'll come off when I get everything set up for the slide fire.

Put a slidefire on Dave's 15-22 (he's a member here) all I did was the bent leg hammer spring mod.. all parts are OEM. Works like a charm.

Thanks. Never thought of lubricating the mags. Good info. I was looking at the Jard 1.5# trigger. I wonder if it has the same problems staying tight since it is not a drop in like the Timney.

polish the fcg -remove the firing pin spring and it should bump fine,. you dont need to have anything special like a reverse muzzle brake dont waste your money, remember to keep the gun light, dont have any accessories other than the factory sights or a small red dot on it,use high velocity ammo or i found 60gr aguila sss work everytime --i built one of the 1st homemade ones and few after that and have had no trouble--think light to maximize recoil and practice

The Jard is exactly like the factory FCG. It fits just like the original.
