M&P 15-22 soon to have a 50 round drum magazine.

well i still wanna belt hangin out of it but i like that idea too lol

There is a company that makes belt fed .22lr uppers for standard AR-15 lowers. You can run both cloth belts and disintegrating links. Can't remember the company right now. When I find it, I'll post the link.

ETA: It's the Lakeside Razorback. Runs about $650 for the upper. http://www.lakesideguns.com/. You can read a recent review on arfcom HERE.

Seriously, Imo this drum looks ridiculous. I'll load 2 mags, shoot 50 rds and forget about it. Then again, It's not all about looks and maybe it would feed the rounds better than the current mags. It's just not for me.

I'll pass on the drum mag too. It's novel but just not for me.

I'd rather spend my $80 getting my barrel threaded and a flash suppressor installed. You know, something I really need!

I agree
Taking mine Monday to do just that and at that price w/a Phantom5C2

but once its threaded you will be like me on to the next mod... lol

modify an AR mag coupler or just make your own and there's your 50 rounds. No bulky drum in the way, cheaper, tacticool effect.

I am right there with you mikehoncho. It would be pretty sweet if it were a larger capacity. Does anyone know if any sites have any in stock? 44Mag.com carries em but they are all out as of right now

You just gave me an idea for the ultimate 22 mag. Just imagine a magazine that you can "pour" a 550 bulk pack into. The magazine would orient and feed them as needed. They already make magazine loaders that do this, why not eliminate the magazine completely? ;)

I've wanted one like this since I first got my rifle.

Honestly, if we can make a convincing "moon landing" in a Hollywood sound stage 40 years ago, how can we not have a reliable hopper system now?
Wonder if those dudes from 'Sons of Guns' are busy....

Some people have more sarcasm than (insert adjective and noun)...:)

ive used drums on my 10/22 and in my opinion take longer to load, add a bunch more weight ,and last but not least its bulky and usually in the way ---im with the guys who say couple two 25rounders together

With the rotary design and the load assisting feature I can drop multiple rounds in the drum repeatedly without them being seated in the wrong position. They drop right in and you dont have to worry about the feed angle. I guarantee that I can load my drum as fast as you can two 25 round mags. The point is firing 5o rounds in 4 seconds isnt possible with two mags.
