Then do without or go there without your girlfriend. It's that simple. I was there on Monday to buy a pistol that no one else had and at a price less than anyone on Gunbroker was selling it. I didn't have to wait and showing an FOID wasn't an inconvenience.
Meh I'll vote with my wallet, it's stupid a law abiding citizens should have to suffer because they are so incompetent when it comes to straw purchases. It's sad when they alienate potential revenue because they are so paranoid. If people are spending hundreds or thousands of dollars at a store, the least they could do is have good customer service.
If you know where to look you can find certain fire-arms for the right price. Based on what I have also heard on a local forum they aren't worth dealing with. I'd currently avoid Gunbroker atm since the mark up will be undoubtedly high.
I guess it all depends if you are in a rush or not. Prices are actually starting to return to normal.
