Well I did the old cut the spring thing and bend it trigger job, now I get some ftf. Either I go replace the stock spring back or get an assembly. What would be a good trigger without breaking the bank to replace the stock one?

You could look into the JP yellow springs sold at Brownells. A lot of people have had success with those, and they offer a lighter weight pull than standard. Or, you could get any standard AR15 trigger springs. These will be your cheapest options.

As far as replacing the whole trigger, there are endless possibilities, depending on how much money you want to spend. Do you want a one stage or two stage trigger? Pre-set or adjustable? $20 or $200? There are an incredible number of options out there.

Of course I would like the same 2 stage that's on my RRA but is it a waste of $ to put one on the 15-22? Perhaps I should bite the bullet and instead of wasting my time and money doing other things and not bring happy.

^ Worked out for me.

If installing a $120 (+shipping) trigger floats your boat, then do it.

I suggest trying your hand at polishing the trigger. Get a good sharpening stone & 800 grit sand paper. Take your time & check the work often. Finish up with some Mother's aluminum mag polish.

If it works out, you've saved yourself some money.

If you screw it up, you have a reason to replace the trigger.

Win-Win.

Spikes battle trigger is nice for $60, that's what I used before I put in a Geissele SSA. Geissele is coming out with new triggers soon from $45-$65 dollars, sounds like a good deal if you want an awesome trigger from the best in the business.

I run a Jard non-adjustable 3 pound trigger on my BM. My 15-22 stock trigger came in at about 6.5 pounds but decent. Put in a JP set of yellow springs which dropped the pull weight by a pound but started to get FTFs. Reinstalled the stock springs and the FTFs went away.

I actually get along fine with the stock setup--it's quite serviceable.

Forgive this uneducated question. If you get a drop in trigger assembly does this include the hammer as well? If not do you need to replace the hammer spring?

Almost all replacement triggers will come with hammers, but there are a very few exceptions.

Low Down, I searched the Geissele web site. $50.00 to $75.00 triggers coming soon??? I am hoping you have insider trading information? Not being a smart ***. I hope it happens. Then we will all be talkin, or not. All the good threads about cutting springs, set screws, and being your own gun smith to mess up your fire control group would disappear. I love those threads, because short of polishing my components I am not touching my trigger myself, it is over my head. I even like my heavy, but crisp, stock, 15-22 trigger pull. For $50.00 bucks I would consider dropping in an alternative. If I did not like it I could put the old one back. No harm, no foul, and no one shot in the face, twice (from another thread). Let us know if the $200.00 triggers come down to $50.00 bucks.

i like my RRA 2stage i couldnt be happier. as far as geissele ive used them and they are great but i still like my RRA better. just as my 2cents.

Low Down, Thank you for the information. I found it very interesting.

For those with the RRA 2 stage trigger...

I'm about to install one and realized the factory aqua colored hammer spring is reduced power.
Do you get reliable primer strikes with the aqua colored factory spring or should I install it with the factory RRA hammer spring?

I had the same problem, the JP yellow springs were causing to many FTF's so I reinstalled the orginal springs. However, I did the sear polishing according to the JP instructions so that did seem to help even with the stock springs. It has been mentioned many times here in the different threads, the 15-22 is a COMBAT WEAPON not a "tack driving" Target Rifle.

No such thing as a waste of time to put something useful on the AR15-22.
Mine currently sports a Geissele Super 3 Gun trigger because I use it for speed shooting competition and the ability to make faster followup shots than say my old RRA trigger is a big bonus. If not I would have left the stock RRA trigger in with the JP yellow springs. It was fine most of the time.
