M&P 15T - Mags wont work!

I bought an MP 15T a couple months ago and got the 5 free mags that was the promotion at the time. Finally had a chance to take it out to the range this past weekend, and to my surprise, only the original PMAG that came w/ the rifle would work. The 5 free ones they sent did not. I thoroughly checked the mags and they were identical to the one that shipped w/ the gun, but they just wouldn't lock in the mag well. Any thoughts on this

Sorry you are having problems. I recently purchased an M&P MOE and got the free pmags and they work just fine. I have handled a dozen or so M16/AR15s over the years and find that on some you really need to seat the magazine firmly in the well. On some 16s (M1) I remember really smacking them good and the mag would lock in particularly when the mag was fully loaded. Try giving them a pretty good smack and see if they lock in.

Glock19926 - thanks for the link. That was very interesting, I had never heard of this M&P15/pMag issue. The M&P15OR I got recently came with a 30 round pMag (non-windowed). I now have the original (the 30 round non-windowed), a newer pMag 30 round windowed, two sets of 20 round pMags (4 20 rounders total), and 4 different "GI" Mags (with MagPul followers). FWIW - all 10 of these feed perfectly with my M&P15.

I went with the $100, instead of the 5 free Mags. I didn't want to wait for the mags, wanted some 20 round ones, and thought I might get the cash quicker (need EOTech and more ammo) as they were unlikely to run out of stock on that.

You're welcome. BTW, I have an EOTech 512 HWS on my M&P-15 carbine and am very, very happy with it.
