Purchased an M P 2.0 9C this morning(469.00) at local gun store. Grandson was with me and we just came in from putting several rounds(50) of practice ammo through it, in my back yard. Found the mag springs stiff, but loadable (15+1). The gun is easier for me to hit with than the my Glocks 19 and 23.

How many rounds should I run through it to determine if it is trustworthy? Also what ammo do you guys recommend? Been using DPX in EDC, but don't have any in 9 MM.

Grandson (13) shot it well also. He has medium siz hands, as do I. He has a 22lr which is a lot like this gun in design.

I will say my initial thoughts are pleasing. I believe it will work for me for concealed carry.

What holster would you guys recommend? I can go IWB or OWB. Plan to use this mainly for church carry and always wear a sports coat, or light weight long tailed jacket.

Congrats on your new 2.0 9C I usually try everything I reload (HP, 115gr, 124gr, Whinchester white box, Blazer Brass, and various SD factory loads.I put250-300 rounds thru mine (after initial cleaning and inspecting, and lubing) on first range trip and had 0 FTF and 0 FTE. 2.0 9C is an amazing weapon with the balance, the trigger, the reset. I have several bins of holsters laying around and 2 OWB (black) that fit best are DeSantis 001-8A and a Tagua(cant read the model #). You can go on the manufactures website, find the model that fits your weapon, then shop, and look for it on Amazon and save $20 or more with free shipping! Good Luck! You'll enjoy the 2.0!

I run whatever ammo I have in hand. Around a 1000. After that another 500 of self defense ammo. After around 2000 if there's no problems I'll carry it.

I've got nearly 1000 rounds of all kinds of ammo through my 2.0 9c.
It has never had a hiccup from the first round.
Whenever I take it out I put a minimum of 100 through it usually 150 I've been carrying it iwb or owb. pretty much exclusively
Keep shooting it and really get comfortable with it you will like it even more.

Typically 500 rounds minimum break-in, with 100 of that being self defense ammunition, which for me is Federal HST 124 grain JHP or Speer Gold Dot's version of that same round. For my 2.0 Compact I opted for the Vedder Lighttuck. Been carrying for two weeks with that holster and for it's been perfect. The adjustable cant allows me to get the grip to fit nicely into the curve of lower back. Printing is almost indiscernible. The metal clip is also a bonus, in my opinion.
Congratulations on your purchase!

Congrats I know every one had an oppinion on how many rounds to run on new one. Here is mine and works for me. 250 flawless rounds and I feel I am good to carry . Now if I happen to not get 250 flawless I start back to 250 before I carry it. Only had one so far I had to re start and it wasn't a Smith. Some here will disagree with that but thats ok too. I think it really boils down to who's running firearm. Of my differant carry firearms for me around first 100 rounds I already had a feeling if I could trust it to run on not

At least 250 rounds, preferably 500. I try to shoot all kinds of ammo through it different brands, JHP, FMJ, etc. as much as possible.

I use Federal HST 147gr standard pressure in all my carry guns from my shield to my 2.0 Compact.

We the People holsters makes a simple, inexpensive, basic IWB that works really well for the price. I have a couple and they’re the bees knees.

On another note the 9c is the most shootable subcompact out there IMO. I have 2 and my son who doesn’t shoot a lot has one also...he is lights out with it. The only thing I did to my personal carry was put a light stipple on it. Other than that it’s perfect for carry

Congrats! I usually will go 500 rounds of ball ammo and 100 of my carry ammo before being comfortable using it as an EDC.
As far as holsters go , I am a Stealthgear disciple LOL! I have both the IWB and the OWB offerings from them for my Shield my 9C 1.0 and my XDM 3.8C .45. I little pricey but they deliver.

Thanks for the suggestions and advice. Ordered a Cross Breed Supertuck IWB yesterday, and need to purchase an OWB holster for it today. Looking at Akers, Bianchi Mdl 7 Shadow pancake and Desantis Thumb Break Scabbard. Want something that holds the pistol medium high and tight. Don't necessarily like thumb breaks.

Congratulations on your purchase of the 2.0 compact! Love mine and I'm confident you (and you grandson) will like it to. My favorite carry load is Federal HST 124gr +p hollow points. Used to be Federal HST 147 hp, but picked up a box of those 124gr +p and WOW! And the 147gr was about $30 for 25 rounds at my local gun store, I found the 124gr +p at a gun show for $26 for a box of 50 (!?).
