Just bought a used police trade in M&P 2.0 9mm this afternoon. Great price ($299), in great shape with night sight and three mags. The trigger is AWFUL! Feels like it's breaking around 10 lbs. Pistol was a Columbus PD trade in and has, of all things, a mag disconnect and the heavy trigger reminiscent of Glock's "New York" trigger. Can I replace all the CPD extras with just a standard factory trigger set up? I mainly bought the M&P because it's engraved with "CPD103" on the slide. That was my call sign before I retired from Centerville PD here in central Georgia.

If the trigger is that heavy, it sounds like an MA compliant pistol.

FWIU, the MA compliant pistols had heavier sear, striker, and trigger return springs, as well as a different trigger bar. If the trigger bar looks like this, it's an H(eavy) trigger bar. If it looks like this, it's a normal trigger bar.

If you're fine with a hinged trigger, you can find normal state replacement parts for those MA compliant items pretty cheaply.

Mine looks like the first one.

Contact Apex Tactical has a number or options for a improvement for your trigger . But first you really need to know what your trigger pull really is , not guessing !

It is interesting how a m&p 2.0 aquired a 1.0 H trigger bar ? Assuming yours has no thumb safety it might be a 1.0 lower and a 2.0 upper pistol .

It's strange having a heavy trigger pull and a mag disconnector like the old 59/69 series Smiths. I have another M&P and the trigger pull with it is what is normally expected from the M&P. I shot the pistol today with factory and handloads. I was surprised the accuracy was very good at 25 yards off hand. The trigger is heavy but breaks like a glass rod and the trigger reset is lightening fast.

Uh, No. That trigger bar is for the M&P 1.0s. The "H" doesn't mean "Heavy".
My mistake!.

Mine looks like the first one.
The plot thickens...

Did MA have the mag disconnect too?
FWIW, S&W will make variations, including magazine disconnect safety M&P 2.0s when LE agencies request them. A buddy of mine got a great deal on an LE box 2.0 Compact optics ready with magazine disconnect last year from Locked & Loaded. Since it came as they would ship to LE agencies (3 mags, night sights, metal optics plates), the best I can figure is that it was LE contract over run that got dumped on the general market.

Below are three types of 1.0 trigger assemblies and a 2.0 trigger bar; all links are to Midwest Gun Works:

Note the loops on the 1.0 trigger bars and the lack of a loop on the 2.0 trigger bar.

Mine has the loop. Label on the box indicated my pistol was made April 2017. The LE Model does have the 10 lb trigger (mine averaged 10 lbs) and has the mag safety.

??? The loop bars were on 1.0s. The 2.0s ditched the loop (amongst other improvements).

Can you post a pic of it?

Does it have front serations? Does it say 2.0 on the slide? Does it have the M&P logo on the bottom of the grip? Does the label have the SKU?

SKU is 12025. No front serrations. slide doesn't have 2.0. It has M&P logo at bottom of grip. I just realized it has the extended piece on the back of the frame so this is a 1.0. made in 2017.

Glad that's sorted out. The M2.0 pistols were announced in January of 2017, so you got one of the last -and most refined- models of the M&P 1.0. Congratulations on getting the pistol with your old call sign!

Found an ad for these on Clyde Armory.

Now that you know it's a 1.0, you can order the proper aftermarket/replacement parts for it. :)

I have a fullsize 1.0 from 2013 with a few upgrades. It's one of my favs to shoot.
